It’s not very often when you find a spot that looks just like a scene taken from Harry Potter, and you’re expecting magical creatures to jump out from the trees any second now.
That’s why when I first discovered this charming looking bridge inside the most autumn colored park I could find in a distant European land, I knew that I’ll remember these moments for the rest of my life. The golden rain of the leaves, the slightly brisk morning air, the smell of wet Earth and the faint sound of the tram in the distance awakened in me a feeling I thought lost.
Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.
– Albert Camus

It is only recently that I started truly enjoying fall. When I was younger I hated it, because it symbolized the ending of summer and – consequently – the end of the light-heartedness and aliveness feeling of summer.
Now I perceive it differently. I enjoy it because I love rushing home on a chilly night and wrapping myself in a blanket and a flannel PJ, putting on some jazz and some candles, while I cozy up with a book, a good movie and a heartwarming home cooked meal.
I still love summer, but each season has its loveliness and its beauty. As the well known quote says, I don’t want to wait for Friday, for summer, for life. Life is happening now, every second. And every second should feel lively and full.

A little history lesson about the location

The Copou Park or Copou Gardens is the oldest public park in Iaşi, Romania. Its development started in 1834, making the park one of the first public gardens in Romania and a Iaşi landmark. In its centre lies the Obelisk of Lions, which is a 44 ft tall obelisk.
Other landmarks include Eminescu’s Linden Tree, the Mihai Eminescu Museum and the Junimea Alley.
The gardens are a popular destination for tourists and locals, as well as a favorite location for poetry festivals, photography exhibitions and art and craft fairs.

Fall is also a season of abundance, of harvest. The myriad of colorful fruits and vegetables filling up markets and tables everywhere, the bursting grapes waiting to be turned into wine, the cheerful pumpkins luring every by-passer or the freshly baked apple pies melting even the coldest of hearts, are only a few of the things that make autumn a season of prosperity.

Another thing I love about fall is wearing sweater dresses, scarves and over the knee boots. There’s just something so cozy and joyful about wearing a cute sweater dress or a soft, off the shoulder, oversized sweater. Not to mention, it’s the perfect excuse to take out the leather jackets and skirts!

What about you? What is your favorite thing about fall?

November 20, 2017Yet another wonderful post, my favorite part about fall is the rare windy days. Back in my homeland those were almost daily with power winds that if you couldn’t hold yourself, you could be almost taken away. Nowadays where I live, it is rare for that to happen but thwle lightest wind takes me out on the street.

November 24, 2017I know what you mean, Henry!! To me it’s also the fog. We have fog in Florida, especially on the coast near the Ocean, but I still miss the fog days during a “typical” fall day in Europe, when your nose is a little chilly and the air is crisp and fresh. I love the fog because it makes everything look surreal, quiet and magical, like you never know what’s going to happen next…
