Is getting nice healthy skin on your New Year’s Resolutions list? Well, mine too!
For the majority of my life I struggled with sensitive skin and a blemish-prone face. Luckily, after a few decades on this Earth I found the perfect combination of “rituals” and products that completely changed the way my skin looks and feels. I’m talking about texture, smoothness, firmness and radiance.
Believe me, this did not come overnight. I spent a lot of years trying out treatments and products and being unhappy with seeing no improvement or definitive results.
To me, the steps for a healthy glowing skin start – of course – with a healthy diet, lots of Fish Oil, Collagen Beauty Greens / Collagen Peptides (thank you, Vital Proteins!!) and keeping active (whether in the gym, doing yoga or training at home). But as you probably know, sometimes these things are not enough and your skin just needs a little something… EXTRA!
That’s why I put up a list of stuff that’s easy and quick and actually delivers the promise.
1. Exfoliate and Treat
My favorite exfoliating products are without a doubt the Braun Spa Facial Brush and Braun Silk Epil 9 Skin Spa Body Brush, especially when used together with the OSEA Malibu Salts of the Earth Body Scrub. For lips, the most convenient and fast exfoliator is the E.l.f. Lip Exfoliator (shaped like a lipstick).
I’ve been using Braun products for over a decade now and this company never ceases to amaze me with the quality and innovation of their products.
The reasons why the rotative brushes work so well: they clean deeper and faster than you would ever be able to and they eliminate dead skin cells, which promotes healthy skin cell regeneration and natural collagen production.
Where can you get them? See the links here:

- Braun Silk Epil 9 Skin Spa
- OSEA Malibu Salts of the Earth Body Scrub
- E.l.f. Lip Exfoliator
Make sure you don’t exfoliate too often though, as your skin can become defenseless and damaged.
I also do masks and treatments every two weeks, and I found that a very affordable solution for Microdermabrasion is the at home device RejuvadermMD by Trophy Skin. I’ve been using this little machine for over half a year and I am very pleased with the results. It had transformed my skin! I have bought the extra diamond head for sensitive skin and it works great around the nose and mouth area. I also use it on the body and it had improved all the fine lines that started to pop around the neck and décolletage area. I don’t have a special head for the body, I just use the “regular” one.
After I do the microdermabrasion I always follow up with a Pure Hyaluronic Acid treatment to help my skin regain moisture and balance. The pure Hyaluronic Acid Treatment works best on wet skin, as it binds to water molecules. Make sure you also drink PLENTY of water.
I can’t rave enough about the benefits and wonders of Hyaluronic Acid and if you want to understand better what it is and what it does, this infographic explains it super clearly and beautifully: https://www.thankyourskin.com/hyaluronic-acid-for-skin/
2. Tone and firm
And here are a few of my latest skin care obsessions that I absolutely swear by! Everything from Manuka Doctor and the Brazilian Bum Bum Cream / Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream-Gel from Sol de Janeiro.
My favorites from Manuka Doctor are the Illusionist Rapid Lift Mask which smoothes out the skin and minimizes pores like no other (it’s almost like getting Botox) and the Purifying Facial Toner which I use every day in the morning after washing my face. The best part is that you also get cash points for every order placed on the Manuka Doctor website, so I encourage you to get it online. Plus it saves you a trip to CVS!
Another note-worthy body pampering treatment is the Natural Dead Sea Body Mud from Ahava which is perfect for detoxing and unwinding after a long day at the office. It’s a mineral-rich mud body mask with high cleansing properties that improves skin texture and tone. They also have a facial mud mask, but I haven’t tried that one yet.
3. Tint and glow
I recently discovered a new cosmetics brand called Laura Geller and I rapidly fell in love with their Baked Balance-n-Brighten Powder Foundation (currently using the shade Light), which I use as a finishing powder and apply it with a stippling brush instead of a pouf, for a more air-brushed look. I also added this on my wishlist and can’t wait to make it mine soon!!
A little secret I discovered a year or so ago is the Body Blur Instant HD Skin Finish from Vita Liberata, which is awesome when I just want a quick and subtle sun-kissed look. Best part: it’s like makeup, which means it washes all off in the shower. I usually use it before a photo shoot or for a night out, when I don’t want to look like a complete ghost (damn you work for keeping me indoors all the time!)
Another staple in my routine is the Baked Bronzer from Milani, which I love in the shade 04 Glow.
And now… the floor is yours! Tell me in the comments below what are your steps for a healthy glowing skin and don’t forget to share this article.
